Wipro distances from robot dog row

New Delhi: Amid the controversy surrounding Galgotias University allegedly passing off a Chinese robot dog as an indigenous creation at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, IT major Wipro on Wednesday distanced itself from the row, asserting that its showcase of a similar robotic dog was purely a software demonstration and not a claim of hardware innovation.

Company sources said Wipro has “never positioned itself as a hardware company” and did not claim ownership or development of the robot dog displayed at the event.
